Yes. This is because a thin layer of enamel must be removed from your teeth to prepare for veneers. Removing this layer of enamel ensures that your veneers will fit properly. After you’re approved for veneers, you’ll come in for your first appointment with Dr. Jagirdar. She will clean your teeth and numb your mouth. Then, she will trim away a thin layer of enamel from each tooth that’s getting a veneer, and take a scan of your teeth.
Next, she will apply a set of temporary veneers to your teeth and send you home. She will send your tooth scans to our partner dental lab, where your permanent veneers will be built. In 2-3 weeks, you’ll come back to Flatiron Dental. During this appointment, Dr. Jagirdar will remove your temporaries, clean your teeth, and then attach your permanent veneers using dental cement. Then, you’ll be sent home to enjoy your new smile.
No. It is true that a thin layer of enamel must be removed to place your veneers. However, once your permanent veneers are in place, your teeth will be just as strong as they were before treatment, if not stronger.
