Our Implant Treatments

Implant Placements

Dr. Jagirdar is an expert implant dentist, so we offer dental implant placement surgery in New York City at Flatiron Dental.

Implant Restorations

We work closely with our partner dental lab to build life-like implant restorations, such as porcelain crowns for single-tooth dental implants.

Implant Maintenance

As part of your routine six-month visit to Flatiron Dental, Dr. Jagirdar will clean, inspect, and examine your dental implants to make sure they're in good shape.

Single-Tooth Implants

We specialize in single-tooth implants at our office. These consist of one metal implant, which is surgically placed into your gums and jaw. Then, once it’s healed, a false tooth (dental crown) is attached to the implant to restore your missing tooth.

The Implant Treatment Process

Placement Surgery

Once you’ve been approved for treatment, Dr. Jagirdar will schedule your oral surgery appointment and provide a surgical plan. During the surgery, Dr. Jagirdar will make an incision in your gum tissue to securely place a dental implant in the jaw. Next, the area will be cleaned and sutures will be placed to begin the healing process.

Healing & Osseointegration

Your gums and jawbone will begin to heal once your implant has been placed. After 1-2 weeks, the incision site will be healed, but it will take 3-6 months for the implant to permanently bond with your jaw bone through a process called osseointegration. To ensure you are healing properly, we will see you for a couple of check ups during the osseointegration process.

Applying The Restoration

The final step in the implant treatment process is the restoration. Your restoration, or prosthetic dental crown, will be custom crafted to match your smile and securely affixed to the titanium implant. Once your new tooth is in place, your smile will be complete!

What Issues Can Implants Solve?

Whether you’re missing one tooth, several teeth, or most of your teeth, dental implants are the best way to restore them. They imitate the natural anatomy of your teeth, are very durable, and require minimal special care after placement.

How Long Do Implants Last?

Dental implants can last up to 30 years or longer. With proper care, it’s very likely that you will be able to keep your dental implant for the rest of your life.

What Is A Single-Tooth Implant?

Single-tooth implants are the most common type of dental implant. As the name suggests, they use one dental implant and a false tooth (dental crown) to restore a missing tooth. With multiple single-tooth implants, you can restore your smile, even if you’ve lost many of your natural teeth.
